Salamanca Market

Salamanca Market is one of Australia’s most loved outdoor markets and is on every Saturday morning, along the historic Salamanca Place, next to the Hobart waterfront. It is a popular destination and is free to enjoy.

Salamanca Market showcases over 300 stalls with a variety of fine art, crafts, jewellery, artisan produce, fresh food and the friendly locals, many of whom make or grow what they sell. The Market’s numerous Tasmanian producers and designers make Salamanca Market memorable and unique – from freshly picked organic fruits and vegetables to handmade jewellery, to world-renowned woodwork crafted from Tasmanian timbers like Huon Pine and Blackheart Sassafras.

The Market is renowned for its friendly locals and the opportunity to meet the people who make the products. Enjoy the atmosphere, chat with the locals, watch the buskers, have something to eat and relax on the lawns.

The Salamanca Market is proudly owned and operated by the City of Hobart.
