So far this year, Tasmania has already had the MONA FOMA music festival, the Australian Wooden Boats Festival, the Launceston Cup, Skyfire, the Royal Hobart Regatta, Festivale and Party in the Paddock. And it's only March! But Tasmanian's don't stop when summer ends. Here's a list of (just) 5 more big events coming to the island in 2017. For more events coming up soon, download our free app here!

1. Ten Days on the Island - Starts 9th March
One of Tasmania's biggest collections of events, the Ten Days festival takes place state-wide. With concerts, exhibitions, dance and art displays from the West Coast to Hobart there is something to choose for everyone. This year is shaping up to be massive! The full program is available (free!) in our app.

2. Targa - Starts 24th April
Entering it's 26th year is this epic tarmac rally. Competitors come from around the country to race on closed public roads, surrounded by the grand vistas of Tasmania. It's a spectacle to behold and well worth finding vantage points to see.

3. Agfest - Starts 4th May
In operation for 34 years, and attracting over 60,000 people in 2016, this is one of Australia's biggest agricultural & machinery events. With riding displays, heritage vehicles, a four wheel drive track, food, craft and more it's an epic weekend for both farmers and city-slickers.

4. Dark Mofo - Starts 8th June
One of Tasmania's weirdest events, a festival that celebrates the winter solstice in the cold darkness of the island. Expect to be confronted while being entertained (if this is your thing). Stay tuned for the full program!

5. Festival of Voices - Starts 30th June
Celebrate voice and song at Australia's best celebration of the voice. With thousands of singers coming from around Australia and the world, there's so much to hear and brings warmth to Tasmania in an otherwise cold winter.
